Compatible with a variety of media and formats

Compatible with a variety of media and formats so they can be used in any DJing situation. They can play not only discs (CDs or DVDs*1) but also music files recorded onto USB storage devices —such as flash memory and hard disc drives*2 etc. Compatible music file formats are music CDs (CD-DA), MP3, AAC, WAV and AIFF. In addition, they can play the music files on a Tonium Pacemaker*3 when it is connected via USB.
*1 : Only the CDJ-2000 can play music files from DVDs.
*2 : Some USB devices may not operate correctly.

You can export either to a USB storage device, or as a rekordbox™ Link export, using a computer with rekordbox™ installed on it.

Music file and management data in rekordbox™ can be exported to a USB storage device.  This DJ playing at a disco or club possible without lugging a computer along.

When this device is connected to a computer via LAN cable, the rebordbox™ music file and management data can be exported directly player. Doing so makes DJ play via a computer possible.
 
Slip Mode expands the range of your DJ performance

Equipped with Slip Mode, which continues playing a song in the background during a loop, reverse or scratch. By doing this, it allows the DJ to perform without expanding the original song even after a loop, reverse or scratch.
 
Advanced Auto Beat Loop

During playback, when the 1, 2, 4, or 8 button is pressed, the Auto Beat Loop function automatically finds the segment from that point for the beat length of the button pressed, making it easy to play a loop. In addition to the basic 7 kinds of loops in equipment to date, the CDJ-900 adds a change of rhythm loop and increase the kinds to 10. Making an even greater variety of performance possible.
 
High Quality Sound Design achieves ideal club sound

We designed comprehensive improvements to sound quality with the aim of an ideal club sound that remains comfortable to listen to even at high volume.
 
Equipped with a high-performance Wolfson DAC
 
For our digital circuitry, we equipped the unit with a Wolfson high-performance D/A converter (WM8740), which is used in the audiophile world too; so we can boast of a sound quality whose excellence is recognized even by sound engineers. It reproduces even the most subtle of sounds faithfully.

New circuitry created to completely eliminate intermodulation distortion
 
We use a balanced hybrid op-amp that combines an independent, discrete FET differential amp with a bi-polar op-amp. We reduced intermodulation and in-phase noise, which arise from noise outside the audible range, noise from the drive current and other noise, to the bare minimum as they are major factors in the deterioration of sound quality.

The results of these are a dramatic improvement in Signal-to-Noise Ratio and distortion percentage. And we get the most out of the attractive aspects of a song, making it possible to express even the subtlest of sounds. In addition to the reproducibility of a massive bass range and the feel of speed, we achieved the ability to reproduce the high and mid-ranges with clarity and minimal distortion. What’s more, this brings the feeling that you are in a space wider and deeper than has ever been achieved.

Other functions
  • Quantize (new): This function can automatically correct and synch the beat when you are doing a manual loop or a real-time cue in, even if the IN/OUT point is off the beat; that prevents mistakes while playing so you can relax and enjoy your performance. (Only songs that have been analyzed with rekordbox™)
  • 0.5 Frame Step (new): We have advanced the minimum frame unit from 1 frame (1/75th second) to 0.5 frames. This allows finer tuning of settings like cue points and loop points, making for more accuracy and a greater DJ performance.
  • PC Interfaces: Equipped with various interfaces so it works better with your computer. It comes equipped with a MIDI interface, so you can control MIDI compatible computer applications. And it has a sound card, so you can connect directly to and play on your computer. What’s more, it is equipped with a human interface device (HID) that allows precise control of Serato’s Scratch LIVE*1 and Native Instrument’s TRAKTOR*2 series.
